Miranda Ingram Agnew is a trumpet player, composer-improviser, and educator originally from Tucson, AZ. She is deeply invested in building supportive and bold spaces for music-making and lasting connections to others through creative practice.
Based in Brooklyn, NY, she composes for and regularly performs with projects Loomtone and New Web (co-led with saxophonist Katie Webster) and her quartet teeter. She is a member of Mutual Mentorship for Musicians (M3) Cohort 8, and a 2025 MacDowell Fellow in Composition. Miranda recently participated in a four week residency with Selendis Sebastian Alexander Johnson’s Big Band, performed at Close Up with a band led by Devon Gates, and at Roulette with Naomi Nakanishi’s band as part of M3’s 2024 Festival.
A dedicated educator, she curated two workshop series for highschoolers and received funding to design a guide for educators centering Women in the story of Jazz + Creative Music.
