Project Bio

A Brooklyn-based quartet playing original music, New Web is composed of improvisers Katie Webster (alto saxophone), Miranda Agnew (trumpet), David Macchione (bass) and Alex Yoo (drums).
Hailing from Seattle Washington; Tucson, Arizona; Bari, Italy and Bayside Queens respectively, members of New Web have played together in various configurations over the past several years, coming together as a quartet in Fall 2024.
Featuring a diverse set of compositions by Katie and Miranda and strong ensemble chemistry, New Web’s sound ranges from spacious, angular improvisation to moments of intense, layered counterpoint.

New Web has played well attended shows at Brooklyn Venues including Young Ethels and Brothers Wash and Dry. Individually, members of New Web have played at Roulette (NYC), the Jazz Gallery (NYC), Jamboree (Barcelona), Bimhuis (Amsterdam), Porgy and Bess (Vienna), and Bird’s Eye (Basel). They have received various accolades including the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award (Katie, 2025), NJL SemiFinalist (Miranda, 2023) and a MacDowell Fellowship, a collaboration between Katie and Miranda in February 2025.
